As part of the London Design Festival, renowned design-led retailer Liberty, is hosting “Britain Can (Still) Make It.” This unique week long exhibition is made up entirely of British designed and produced furniture, lighting, ceramics and textiles, as well as exclusive collaborations. Curated by David Nicholls, Design Editor of the Saturday Telegraph Magazine, and by Michelle Alger, Home & Furniture Buyer, Liberty, the show will demonstrate that Britain is still at the forefront of cutting edge design and craftsmanship. ercol are proud to have been asked to take part in the show.
The exhibition’s name draws inspiration from the Britain Can Make It show, held in 1946 at the V&A. This exhibition was organised to showcase the best of British design to the world in a drive to help the economy recover after the deprivations of the War. ercol were an exhibitor at that original show as well, exhibiting what was to become our Windsor range of furniture – a range that is still going strong now, over half a century later. We will be showing some exciting new pieces at the show – perhaps they too will be going strong in fifty year’s time.
Britain Can (Still) Make It will be taking place during the London Design Festival at Liberty from 19th – 27th September.
