The Wood Awards, founded in 1971 and re-launched in 2003, recognises and encourages excellence in design, craftsmanship and installation and it gives its prestigious awards to architects and furniture designers.”

The shortlisted designs will be on display at 100% Design at Earls Court in London from 18th-21st September, before the winners are announced in November.

The Holland Park chair was designed for ercol by Russell Pinch and was launched only lastHolland Park chairs in the Perkin Reveller year.  It has already featured in a number of restaurants, including the Perkin Reveller at the Tower of London and River Cottage Canteen, Bristol – the latest of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s restaurants.  After graduating from Ravensbourne College of Design, Russell worked for Sir Terence Conran, becoming Senior Product Designer for the Conran Group, where he developed a wide range of products for Conran restaurants and shops.  Later Russell co-founded The Nest, a multi-disciplinary brand design agency, before in 2004 returning to furniture design.
