Uppsala is a new upholstery range, designed by ercol exclusively for John Lewis. We’ve very excited as this is our first upholstery range for John Lewis and draws on ercol’s long history of making comfortable and attractive sofas and chairs.
The understated shapes and restrained detailing of the sofas and chairs have elements of Nordic influence. Slender profiles are set off by subtle roll fronted, deep seat and back cushions whilst the bolster cushions have neat, feature seams. The collection is upholstered in a flat woven fabric with an open weave, available in a selection of muted tones creating a contemporary feel. The armchair is also available in a striking Sanderson fabric as an accent piece. The Scandinavian impression is accentuated by the solid white oak angled foot that neatly wraps around the edge of the sofa.
Whilst the name and influences are Scandinavian, uppsala is made by ercol craftsmen in our Buckinghamshire factory.
